Pcmcia image problem @ redhat linux 6.0

Hi all,

I've been trying to upgrade my redhat linux 5.1 to the
newest redhat linux 6.0. I've tried all the different
images from the ftp sites (i.e. the updates from 13 May
as well as the originals from 19 April) but haven't
made it yet.

The problem appears at the "very beginning" with the
installation floppies (bootnet.img and pcmcia.img as I'm
trying to upgrade either by ftp or nfs).

The problem seem to be the pcmcia image because I can boot
without any dificulty, but when I ask for the pcmcia support
to install, the floppy disk just keeps on looking for missing files
(i.e. the machine gets stuck and the floppy unit doesn't stop).

By using the original images (from 19 April) and the updated
ones (from 13 May), I have realised that:

1. In the original pcmcia disk, the floppy keeps on looking
for the "ds.o" file and as it cannot find it, the machine
gets stuck and need to be rebooted manually. Therefore the
pcmcia module is not recognised and thus there's no network
   connection to upgrade.

2. In the updated pcmcia disk, the image is called stage2.img
and as the boot.img looks for pcmcia.img, the system cannot
mount the floppy. To correct the problem I make a simbolic
link from pcmcia.img to stage2.img but even with this the
machine reports the 3 object files (pcmcia_core.o, i82365.o
and ds.o) missing. So again there's no possibility of pcmcia
module and then no network connection.

Does anybody else have had this problem?
If so (and have found an alternative), could you tell me how?

Thanks,

  Adolfo
