Re: security concerns



I haven't gotten Linux running yet so my information may be wrong, but
I know that in UNIX there is a feature called chroot that allows you
you to trap a user in a bubble so they can only execute the stuff you
want to give them. This feature is invoked by placing an * in the
user's shell field in the password file. The home directory entry in
the password file must point to a directory that contains an
environment (/bin, /lib, ...) that you define, and this becomes the
user's root directory. The feature should be documented on the login man
page.
