enlightenment/gnome

Does anyone know why I can not use sound as a normal user in
enlightenemnt?  I got it working fine as root but my normal user bchand
can not when I was configuring enlightenment it said unable to start
esound.  I figure it is a permissions problem, however, before I go
twiddling with devices and permissions I thought I would as kif anyone had
this problem and how did they fix it?
