Hi Raju
The tool you search for is Partition Magic from PowerQuest.
Great program, I've never lost data with it, nor partitions (I knock on
wood).
Of course there are other products, like Partition-It from Quaterdeck.
I've never tried them.
As for the optimal partitioning of your HD, well, that's an endless
discussion.
Analyse your needs.
- Do you need a lot of apps and stuff?
Make sure you have a big system partition
- Do you manage a lot of documents?
Make sure your user partition (/home) is big enough.
- Do you want a web server?
Make a partition for your sites.
Etc. (hey, don't forget the swap :-) )
I would say, three partitions:
2 Gb for /
2 Gb for /home
128 Mb swap
or something like that, depending on your needing more space for
your system or more space for your data.
Voila.
Good luck
Sylvain
