Hi Jephe
I don't remember exactly which version of Squid I'm using.
I think it's the normal 5.2-out-of-the-box version, something like 1.2,
could be 1.1.22.
It DOES support https, it was one of the first things I tested when
I installed it.
There are a few options about SSL in squid.conf, I don't remember
them, but I don't remember having played with them.
I think the default is not to cache the pages got thru https, but
to transmit them directly to the client.
I have one question though: which browser do you have problems with?
Excuse me for the question, but have you set all settings correctly?
With Netscape 4.x , in Preferences/Advanced/Proxies/Manual Config,
the Security proxy server must be set to point to your Squid proxy.
I had forgot to set it in the beginning and had been wondering for
months why the hell did Squid not support SSL like it was stated in
the documentation.
If you're still stuck, e-mail me privately and I'll check my squid
settings when I'm home.
Hope this helps
Sylvain
