Help - pppd & mgetty+sendfax

Hi,

1.   Has anybody been successful in linking a Win98 box to a Linux box using
serial cable & mgetty+pppd. I hv been unsuccessful so far. I do get a login
screen on my Win 98 box, give my login name & thereafter the 'dialing'
message of Windows DUN refuses to go. Pl help/refer me to any articles on
the subject.

2. Fax - I hv setup mgetty+sendfax. I hv been able to send a fax fm Win 98
using Delrina Winfax to Linux box & back using Multitech modems. My problem
is that I am unable to view it on the Linux box/Win 98 box.

fax view <filename> on Linux gives the following error messages:-

  /usr/bin/efix     ...Error - unknown image format
 /usr/bin/fax       xv:Command not found

I am not using Xwindows & would like to view faxes using any ordinary shell
fax-viewer.

Similiarly the same fax sent back to Win 98 box displays garbage in Delrina
Winfax. It appears to be a fax format problem !!

Any Linux users who hv encountered and sorted out these problems earlier !!
