mouse configuration problem

Hi all,
     I have installed Linux RedHat 5.2 in my machine.  I am facing problem
with configuration of my mouse.  When I starts X Windows The cross hair
stands at the centre of the screen.  When I move the mouse the pointer goes
to the top right corner of the screen.  When I drag the mouse the pointer
moves and goes back to the same position. I am using Microsoft OEM mouse
(two button).  I have installed the KDE desktop in my machine.  The same
problem I faces with both KDE desktop and linux native desktop.

Earlier when I used Redhat 5 their was no problem at all.  This time I
tried changing all mouse types available in the configuration utility.  But
I am helpless.

Please give me a solution to this.
