Hi,
Time and time again. I get this : Kernel Panic: unable to mount fs on...
message and I have to reinstall Linux from scratch. I have opted to boot
always from a floppy and am not giving up on that. First thought that my
boot floppy is corrupted, so next time I installed Linux I made multiple
coopies with mkbootdisk. But then I got it again, and I reinstalled. Then
its about 5 times. I even changed computers two times. I changed the
installation CD. Nothing worked. It works good for a while, then the same
kernel panic msg on boot.
What I want here is that if you could tell me where to find info about this
cursed kernel panic msg.
One more thing. If I dont install gcc at first time, and I want iot, one
option is to reinstall linux. the other, I presume, must be to unzip a .gz
or .tar file. But I dont see any gcc.gz file on my CD though there are
gawk.gz and others. What to do!!!
Thanks
(and dont) Hyde
