Yes, it will make it look like a DOS partition.  Definitely not what you
want.  (I had RH 5.1 on an external drive and an older version of NU
"fixed" the drive for me.  I could never boot linux after that.  It became
a non-issue since I got a new drive after that, but it left a bad taste in
my mouth.)
