Once you've got the new drive in, first thing you'll need to do is run 'fdisk
/dev/hdb' (assuming your new drive is the second drive in the system) and add
your partition(s)..
Run 'mke2fs /dev/hdb1' (assuming that's where you want your new home
partition)..
Mount your new partition 'mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt'...
Copy your data with 'cp -a /home/* /mnt'...
Edit /etc/fstab to reflect the new location of /home...
Reboot and all should be well...
Hope this helps...

Subject: I screwed up!
I didn't leave enough space for '/home'
and to fix it
I have decided to add a separate hard drive and to
mount it as '/home'.
As I've never hoved '/home' before I was wondering
if someone could guid me through how to do this?
Especially the commands necessary to copy all of the
directories in '/home' to the new hard drive.
Many thanks in advance.

PS.. I was going to send this request to the main
redhat-list... but for some reason I am no longer
receiving mail from it... and am having no luck re-subscribing.
