Where ever anyone tries to install Redhat 6.1 from they have problems
- tried a net install and given there error it won't make any
difference what the source is. Looking at one error that I have
seen here:
Traceback (innermost last):
File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 13, in ?
import gettext
File "/usr/lib/python1.5/site-packages/gettext.py", line 40 in ?
import os, string
File "/usr/lib/python1.5/string.py", line 480
return sign + '0'*(width-n) +
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
It is clearly a python programming error. I have posted a question
on this subject to the comp.lang.python newsgroup, though I am
guessing that this may be a damaged install of Python, an
error in the release of version 1.5 of Python or something else.
Either way I am not a python programming so I am not too sure.
I am going to download a copy of Python and if I have time
see what happens using the copy I downloaded - if anyone
does this and has any success - do let me know if you get
there before me.
Here is a link for downloads:
