Mount the cd on another linux box within an tcp/ip network, choose the
FTP install with the bootnet.img image (floppy) and when you get to the
point of giving directions, tell it the IP of the machine you mounted
the cd on, and the mount point (example) "mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom"
....... and this mount point would be "/mnt/cdrom" with no " " quote
marks of course.
I have a laptop with no CDROM and have done this countless times. I did
have a failure twice, once when Mandrake had a bad floppy for this in
6.0, and when I had a pcmcia card that wasn't identified at install
time.
