HI,
I am facing some annoying problems installing RH 6.1. I have a
1.44MB/120MB superdisk drive and a 40X CD-ROM on my Compaq Presario 5240
desktop, both cause problems. While it boots from the boot disk, the
system thinks it has two floppy drives, so it wrote something back to
bios, and I was having problems booting Win98, because now it thought it
has drive A 120MB and drive B 1.44MB, and since it only searches A at
boot time, this means I can no longer boot from floppy disk.
My CD-ROM also creates some problem for me. It cannot be recognized by
linux kernel. I simply cannot install RH from the CD-ROM.
Can someone who has experience with superdisk drive and/or high speed
CD-ROM kindly give me some suggestions as to cope with these problems?
Thanks in advance!
Best wishes,
Chip
