Kernal Compiling

After getting RedHat 6.1 installed and setup I thought it was time to try kernel compiling.

I finally got the kernel compiled by using the make bzImage. I have only basic stuff installed as this will be a DNS server. I have no modules no sound/isdn/scsi/raid/smp/etc... installed.

I setup lilo as I have on other systems.

	image = /vmlinuz
		label = linux
		read-only
		root=/dev/hda1

The catch is when I boot with this kernel I get the following error message:

no setup signature found....

What causes this problem.
