Check on your HD in /etc and see if there is a file named lilo.conf. If so,
type less lilo.conf at the prompt. If you see something like this:
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
other=/dev/hda1
label=Winblows98
table=/dev/hda
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.5-15
label=linux
root=/dev/hdc1
read-only
Then you should be able to simply type lilo -v at the prompt and be ready to
go. If not, I'll need more info to be of any help. Luck to you.
