Was my decision to buy Official Red Hat Linux 6.0 a wise one?

In past few days I was in a big dilemma between Official Red Hat Linux 6.0 
(see http://www.redhat.com/commerce/) and The Linux-Mandrake 6.0 Power Pack 
Edition (see http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/fpowerpack.php3).

At last I decided to order Red Hat because it contains two manuals, one 
with 450 pages and the second one with 300 pages. I wanted to order first 
Mandrake because it was both cheaper and it has five CD disks with many 
programs. I still do not know whether my choice was correct.

I am newbie in the world of Linux. I am tired of Microsoft monopoly and I 
want rather to support Linux. However, it seems that Linux is for clever 
people. Nevertheless, I am stubborn and wish to try Linux, because I am 
indeed tired of everything called "Microsoft."
