Your reverse DNS (on the Linux machine) is not setup correctly.
Either list all the machines (the Win95 ones included) in
/etc/hosts, or setup your DNS. If you already have a DNS
server running on the network, edit /etc/resolv.conf such that
the Linux machine will use it. If you want the Linux machine
to run a DNS server, that's a whole other barrel of worms.
Do you have a DNS server on the network?
Do you want one? or are hosts files workable?
