Re: Bad login on x-server?

Dear users;
When I login as user ( succesful ) and startx I get Authentication
denied and some xinit messages. When I login as root and startx it goes
to windowmanager. When I init 5 it goes to Redhat login screen where I
can get to Gnome. when I check the $PATH at the login prompt it looks
fine when I check it at an xterm in Gnome it looks like both user and
root together whether or not I su to user or root. I checked all the log
files etc and cant find anything out of place except set command shows
the messed up PATH. Does this have to do with the symlink between x and
xwrapper in /usr/X*/bin ? Can I unset my PATH and export a new variable
? I can't seem to get a good lock on the x server either. When I echo
$TERMINAL  I get nothing.  Whats up ?
