Sendmail configuration

Hello!

I want to configure sendmail. The distribution I use is RedHat 6.0.
My problems are the follows:

1. I have more than one pop-account (at work, private), that I
    want to access.
2. For one of my pop-accounts, I have another login than
    for my computer here.  (GMX: my login on my computer at home is
   "steih", my GMX-address is anja steih gmx de and my login for GMX
    is my customer number. 

I tried to configure sendmail with linuxconf. But it doesn't work. 
The messages I get with fetchmail don't find the way to
/var/spool/mail/steih. Instead of I can find them in
/var/spool/mail/root.  And when I want to send mail out, the gmx
server doesn't recognize me. What can I do?
