can't locate

Hello 

	I am using Redhat Linux 6.0 for almost 3 months. Could anyone give some
help about this error:

1.	modprobe - can't locate module ppp-compress 21
	modprobe - can't locate module ppp-compress 26
	modprobe - can't locate module ppp-compress 24

2.	mount: RPC: Timed out

	What do you mean by this kind of error?  Where i can find some
informations about all errors in Linux that explain the causes and give some
solutions. Is there any books about this?
