Re: RH Linux... call it a stable system

Guys, guys, take it easy on Robert.

Robert, let me ask you a question: Do you have a reason to install Linux?

I had a clear reason to install Linux. That is why I tolerated all the painful steps in installing it and configuring it. Now, all that hard work is paying off. I really like using it. Linux is meeting all the expectations I had from an operating system (Win9x/WinNT don't meet my expectations of an operating system).

Linux and Win9x are totally different OSes. You can't compare them based on user friendliness or installation procedures. There is a lot more than that. (I do like the user friendliness of Win9x. However, the frustration of using Win9x/WinNT is far more painful.)

So, please decide why you wish to install Linux in the first place.

And, if you call yourself a power user of Win9x, then you might as well stick to Win9x.
However, let me mention this quote to you: (hey, guys, forgive me if I mess it up a little)

Best of luck.

stop bitching! I am not a programmer or even a WinX power user like
yourself, yet I've used linux for the past year and a half with a bit of
frustration but eventual success.  Let me tell you, bitching and whining
won't solve your problems.  If you are here to tell us how easy it was
with winX you would do yourself a favor by removing yourself from the list.

If you have a problem, please give more info than "it was easier with
winX and I'm givin ninus one last change" ( not a perfect quote but I
don't care).
