Denice :
Thank you for the much needed advice. I don't mean to be a pest but I
still have a couple of questions.
Is it normal to have to go through and 'prune' the log files to
/dev/null ?
In pine the config file put sent-messages, signature and saved-messgs
in /var/spool/mail/user and I thought that is where the INBOX should go
but pine didn't seem to be able to open it there. I will try
/usr/spool/mail/$USER and $USER means the username, right?
If I understand your instructions- I should "cp -p /etc/pine.conf to
pine.conf.save" then "pine -conf > /etc/pine.conf" creates a new .conf
file?
The pine.conf and .conf.fixed in /etc appear to contain only the
headers.
The same in /root appear to be configured. What should I do with them?
Also I think my $PATH is screwed up what do you think of this.
wolf]$ echo $PATH
/usr/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/home/wolf/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/home/wolf/bin
is that a little redundant? This is root's.
root]# echo $PATH
/usr/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin
That isn'right is it.
I know this is too many questions but any help will be appreciated.
