Re: Adding SCSI controler (Adapted 2940UW)

Thanks Thomas,

I'm using the default installation, I have not compiled the
kernel with SCSI support.
When you mentioned 'the needed SCSI drivers', Are those included
in the RH distribution or I have to get them somewhere else?

The answer to your other question is: I'm not planning to move
Linux to the new disk.

Thanks

Are you using SCSI modules like the RH default
or did you build your own kernel with SCSI
compiled in?

The second option is easiest :)
Just build/install a kernel with the needed SCSI drivers.
Shutdown, add the card and it's drive, and reboot.

The order on the disks may change, and that'll make life
hard. You can try moving the old disks to the new controller
and removing the old controller.

Do you plan to move Linux to the new disk as well?
