There are some known NFS issues.  Try adding these mount options (assuming
SCO likes an 8k buffer size).  The sync option is *not* ideal, but the
larger read-write buf sizes help performance:

 -sync,rsize=8k,wsize=8k


I'm going to upgrade knfsd this week on one of my machines. If I am happy
with it I will patch all my machines; and if you like, let you know via
email..
