Yeah.... you can use whatever pleases you to retrieve any file from the 'net.
It's just that ta .tar.gz file wouldn't be something that I'd want to
decompress and de-archive on a non-Unix style OS.  As long as you can basically
retrieve the file and copy it around once you get it o.k. it doesn't really
make any difference *how* you originally retrieved the downloaded file.

The other thing I'd be careful about is moving the file to a DOS partition of
some sort that will only support 8 character names (maximum) and 3 character
extensions.  If the DOS partition can't support loooooooong filenames then
I'd forget about putting it on that particular partition as well.
