I wonder are you trying to use the same XF86Config in RH6.1 that you were using
in 6.0? The way fonts are treated in RH6.1 is different from some of the earlier
versions (not sure if RH6.0 was different or not). Just check the "files"
section and make sure it looks like this:
Section "Files"
# The location of the RGB database. Note, this is the name of the
# file minus the extension (like ".txt" or ".db"). There is normally
# no need to change the default.
RgbPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb"
# Multiple FontPath entries are allowed (they are concatenated together)

After i fixed the pcmcia now it will not let me set my notebook lcd screen to
800x600 in 16bit colour (I was working in that resolution in RH 6.0)
