crc error Re: First-time boot stuck at Uncompressing Linux

Yes I did, and this time I got

LILO boot:
Loading linux ................
Uncompressing Linux...

crc error

-- System halted


I will try to re-position the boot partition on my hard disk so that it is 
within the 1024 cyl boundary, I'll let you know how I get on.

By the way, what does "crc error" mean?
