I have DDO on my IBM HDD. Lilo comes up on the MBR after the DDO (On-track, as
supplied by IBM). The MBR is on the same disc that has DDO. However my linux
partitions are not on that disc, they are on another disc (the DDO drive is HDA,
the linux partitions are on HDC).
Unfortunately I dont know if there is a non-destructive way to re-size a
partition once DDO is on, or whether there is a non-destructive way to remove
DDO. FIPS says it is incompatible with DDO. Does anyone know?

Some do, but I don't remember which ones. If this is a linux only
machine, I'd use the normal (not LBA or large ) setting in BIOS
and a small boot partition. Works well with my 10G IBM disks.
Look through the LILO documentation and the (Mini)HOWTO's
to see which ones work if you need it for a non linux OS.
