RE: More laptop headaches <whimper>



I've had no problems with either 3COM PCMCIA ETHERNET or Adaptec PCMCIA SCSI
Adapters during installs to laptops. I believe that I've also tried
Acctiontec and Xircom Ethernet adapters too, but it's been awhile.

You have to be sure that you are using the PCMCIA boot disk, not the
default. It's image is available on the CD-ROM.

Linux auto detects these cards.

I've been able to perform installs either via LOCAL FTP or SCSI CDROM's this
way.

I have not tried NFS or SAMBA installs though.

Anybody know what kind of PCMCIA SCSI cards RH 6.1 supports?

I know it supports my network card, but of course, that
doesn't help at the moment. <sigh>

Still open to suggestions.
