Go to XF86Config.
This could be /etc/X11/XF86Config
                       /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config
                      /RH60/etc/X11/XF86Config
                      /RH60/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config
or                  /RH60/usr/lib/X!!XF86Config
Save existing file with new extension
Edit     Section "Screen"
                   Subsection "Display"
From
                        Modes  "640x480"
To
                        Modes    "800x600"

If you change it to
                        Modes    "800x600" "640x480"
you can switch between sizes by <Ctrl><Alt>+ or -.
