Environment:
RH6.1 Professional Gnome Workstation
install
IBM PC340 (older Pentium) 32 mb
LT WIN modem
I found a driver for the modem at http://www.definitesoftware.com/LucentPCI-1.1-1.i386.rpm
and installed it (someone maintains a nice page at http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html).
When I run the RH PPP Dialer in debug the messages read
line has invalid autocommand "PPP /compress
negotiate" found a good menu option "autocommand". disconnecting at Feb 10
08:09:15 2000 DIALING FINISHED.
I can see that is connects OK but then it just
hangs up. When I run it without the debug button it gets the little dialog box
and appears to connect but the dialog never goes away. Even if I leave the
dialog box open, nothing is happening in the NS browser except a redial. Any
suggestions.
