Is Red-Hat willing to start a kick-start email list? Do we need one?
Everybody has a favorite install method with which they have previous
experience (mine was REXX on OS/2!). All of these people have great
ideas on how to improve kickstart. (Enterprise systems people have a
reall business need to see it significantly improved)
Does somebody want to start a web page for this? an email reflector?
Should it be RH centric? I have heard that Caldera has a good install
tool too.
Is this all about rpm? python? perl? And should it be constructed for
enterprise system's from the start? Should we bring in Noah White's
ideas on LDAP? <--Or is is this a an altogether different issue. Does
auto-rpm play a part here?
I think everybody agrees one thing: kickstart could stand some
significant improvement.
Is there an un-official Red Hat response to this?
Comments?
just wondering!
