Re: importing address book

Well, That's where the editor comes in handy...
Enter a contact address the normal way... then export it to a text file.
Then export your converted address book records to the same format text
file. Compare and Examine them in a GOOD text editor..(mentioned before) in
both text and hex mode. You will most likely find the source of your
problem. And you can easily edit out the offending object (using a unique
search string and replace) and import back directly thru your database
client.
It's really NOT a good idea to depend on higher level apps such as
spreadsheet and db format files to do this... Believe me, StarOffice apps
are NOT totally coherent with Office apps. Compatibility doesnt mean that
formatting is identical.

I know it may gall you to use this win app but you'll marvel at how good it
works once you play with it a while..

BTW; Read the message board on the site to address your obvious questions
esp setting unix format as default and possible Linux ports.

Jim
