Yes, and no. You can block your single user mode with a passwd, too. But, if
you forget it, or if you have trouble with your passwd files? Or if your hdd
gets a different opinion than you when trying to locate the information
regarding passwds? Or what about if the sector where the info was located
gets damaged (improbable but possible...)?
Remember this: never leave your console alone! =)
Better use a BIOS passwd instead of a single user mode passwd. If you forget
it, you can usually override it opening your case and moving some jumpers or
eventually making a short somewhere in your motherboard. READ YOUR MB MANUAL
CAREFULLY before attempting this.
