Re: Netscape and address book crash

Guys, I've used Netscape since early '95 and I've acquired serious issues
wiht Netscape reliability.. while I use the Windows version and that's not
really directly germane - the problems I have are that EVERY version I've
had have exhibited lock-up, if not BlueScreen problems on a repeated basis.

I really DONT like IE because of the obvious MOLE issues and it galls me to
have to keep it on my desktop but in many cases I've HAD to resort to using
it on several sites... not just Microsoft sites as was the case several
versions ago.
No matter WHAT I do to resolve them, I seem to encounter either the same or
new problems and Netscape's answer is always to download the latest version.
Then I get NEW problems.. and the automatic trouble response wizard that
supposedly posts the system info to Netscape in case of crash, rarely
invokes. The current problems that I encounter seem to involve java
invocations and failure to properly shut down previous applets.

I believe the worst thing that could have happened to Netscape is its
association with AOL which outdoes MS in its cavalier attitude toward users
and, especially, IT pros.

Basically, If you can find another browser.. use it. I've stopped
recommending Netscape to clients altogether because first I have to explain
why they shouldnt use IE then, later, why they HAVE to use it.. That's
embarrassing.
