Re: No Printer



I'm not sure what caused atd to be broken, but I can probably explain the
printing problem.

In the file /etc/conf.modules, you should have a line that reads:
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc

This tells the kernel to use the lowlevel parallel port module when trying
to talk to parallel port devices.

This is a FAQ, BTW.

My guess is that adding that line to conf.modules and rebooting will make
your problem go away.

Hang in there.  Linux is worth it.
