I'd bet it's related to your routing. What does it look like?
Take a look at the route add command..
(something like route add default)
[tcooper tcooper fonts]$ netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt
Iface
192.130.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0
