Hi!
Not only is the bios detecting the CDROM, but Linux finds it during the hardware
probes it does during bootup:
PCI_IDE: unknown IDE controller on PCI bus 00 device f9, VID=8086,
DID=2411
PCI_IDE: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
ide0: BM-DMA at 0xffa0-0xffa7, BIOS settings: hda:pio, hdb:pio
ide1: BM-DMA at 0xffa8-0xffaf, BIOS settings: hdc:DMA, hdd:pio
hdc: CRG-;4;0C # # # # # # # # # # # # # # #, ATAPI OPTICAL drive
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
The CDROM is the only IDE device, the hard disc and tape are SCSI.
However, the last line of the boot sequence (from dmesg) is
hdc: driver not present
Any ideas?
