just started using linux. the good thing is that i haven't yet been able to
get X to work. i say this because it made me figure out a pile of stuff in
the command prompt. but, the thing is that i would like to get X to work.
i have tried all of the aforementioned methods of configuring X, but i end
up with the same result each time...the resolution is set such that i can't
see but half of the desktop. even though i have set up different monitors,
picked different synch rates, and picked different resolutions, nothings
seems to change. i can always just see a very small portion of the desktop.
i am using a 19" mag monitor that was set to 1280x1024 in windows. thanks.
