modem was disconnected.

Well I too get the same propmt from my ISP I have to type "ppp ne"
(without the qoutes) and press enter and then when the funny gibberish
appears to indicate that the ppp connection is on I select ok..and the
connection is established..
 
If typing "ppp ne" at the prompt fails please try authenticating using
PAP... BTW can't you authenticate without the terminal being bought up..ie
cant you just enter you password and username and ask kpp not to bring up
the terminal?
