mod_ssl Installation Woes

Redhat 6.2. Trying to add a secure server to my existing Apache
installation. I've installed the OpenSSL rpm without a problem. Mod_ssl, on
the other hand is not as straight forward.

Does anybody have information on what needs to be done after the mod_ssl rpm
is installed?  I was under the impression that the package would take care
of recompiling Apache. Am I mistaken?

Go easy on me, I've only been working with Linux for 2 weeks.
