It seems the problems are related to having a Linux extended
partition. By default, the install program created an extended
partition and created / and (swap) in the extended partition.
After running Linux fdisk during the install and creating all primary
partitions, dual booting with LILO works.
Does anyone understand why Linux extended partitions cause these
problems on these new hardware platforms (Abit VT6X4, Dell XPS T
500)?
Am I going to create other problems for myself by using only primary
partitions?
