Long file names from msdos file system

Hi

I have RH6.2 installed and when I mount Win95 partition (msdos file system)
it does not display long file names, instead it displays the short versions
of those names (8.3 format).

A very peculiar thing I had noticed when I tried to install RH6.0, when I
first installed that version, it did display the long file names, but when I
reinstalled the linux (with some options changed, but with the same source
CD, and on the same computer/partition) long file names had been gone.
