I downloaded the 6.2 distribution and attempted to install it on my 400MHz
K6 that currently has Win98 on one partition and RH6.0 which I installed
from the CD on another. I copied the 6.2 distribution to the Windows
partition under c:\i386. When I started the installation by booting the
floppy image, the first thing I noticed is that I do not get the GUI
installer when I hit return at the boot prompt. However, everything seems
to go fine and I select an upgrade install. At that point, I get a python
exception that I transcribed below. This happened with the boot.img that I
got with the distribution and also with an updated set of images:
boot-20000407.img
update-disk-20000407.img
or
update-disk-20000409.img
anaconda.real (inf.run) line 342
text.py (__call__) line 584
todo.py (getCompsList) line 469
harddrive.py (readComps) line 44
comps.py (__init__) line 326
comps.py (readCompsFile) line 232
TypeError: CompFile version 3 or 4 expected
Any ideas on how to proceed?
