Hi,
I couldn't find any info on this... most likely because it is something really
simple and obvious... but for a newbie...
I have scsi 8mm tape backup setup on my machine running RH 6.2. During bootup,
the scsi recognizes the tape and the OS also recognizes the tape. Now I figure
this means that everything is setup properly. But, I can't seem to have access to
it! If I issue the command mt rewind I get this...
$ mt rewind
/dev/tape: No such file or directory
How do I know which device file is accessing the tape? Do I need to specify what
is /dev/tape (there is no device in /dev called tape)? Does the tape device need
to be mounted?
Thanks for all your help in advance,
Konrad :)
