Removing packages in kickstart (again)

Hello list!

Recently I asked the list about removing some packages during kickstart
installation, and was told that the following works for 6.2:

> > %post
> > rpm -e <packagename>

I've tried that on 6.0 system and have the following error:

cannot get exclusive lock on database
error: cannot open //var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm

Did I miss something or it doesn't work for in 6.0?
Is there any work arounds?
