Might be that this is too technical for an install-list and no one
knows how to help. Most people on this list dont necessarily do anything
but simple non-hub networking (1-2) machines, or in my case I run
a six-machine 10BaseT (aka "vcr-net") network and dont use snmp.
Others are on cable/dsl. I may fiddle with snmp one day but I really
dont have the need since my router/firewall is a YALB (Yet Another
Linux Box).

Look at the README in the ucd-snmp docs for mailing lists/newsgroups, they
may be better able to assist you
