RE: Samba Question

When I had that problem, I found that the password it was attempting to find
was for the Win95 name which is under the network properties, Identification
tab for Computer Name. When I added that in Samba (or maybe /etc/passwd; I
may have done both), I could read the shares fine.

I found what it was looking for in /var/log/samba/log.user

As I just checked those files, I believe the solution is adding an entry to
/etc/passwd for that user with a valid password. Of course, I've been wrong
before.

Subject: Samba Question

I just installed RH6.0 on a new machine and got samba up and running (or so
I thought). I can see my Samba server fine from my Win9x boxes but when I
try to access my shares I get the following error:Whenever I try to connect
to my Samba Server I get the following error message:

You must supply a password to make this connection:

resource: \\server\ipc$

password:

I can't even access my Public shares. How can I get past this?

I tried submitting this to the Samba list already but got no responses.
