Re: system won't boot

your MBR is messed up by the install.

do a fdisk /mbr
and the start Redhat installl from scratch.

my system won't boot from the hard drive at all. Lilo doesn't pop up, i =

problem like this was fdisk. i set up fdisk on hda like this:
1. cyl 1-600 WINFAT 32 (keep original windows partition)
2. cyl 601-1100 linux (mnt: /)
3. cyl 1100-x linux swap (x is around 1200-1300)
4. cyl x+1-2481 linux (mnt: /data)
anybody have an idea what the problem could be?
do i absolutely NEED a partition mounting to /boot?

thanks,
Peter
