Given the recent awareness of the kernel exploits and since RH6.1 (which I
have) is listed among the relevant releases, I decided it would be prudent to
upgrade the kernel. Now, under section 6 it lists RPMs only for RH6.2. I
decided to try and apply the upgrade patches to my system, to see if it
complained about dependencies and the such. Well, gnorpm didn't complain when
I applied the upgrades, so I assumed everything was ok. Now, I'm getting this:
[root /var/named]# ps
Warning: /boot/System.map has an incorrect kernel version.
PID TTY TIME CMD
4776 pts/1 00:00:00 su
4782 pts/1 00:00:00 bash
4836 pts/1 00:00:00 ps
[root /var/named]#
So, should I uninstall the kernal patches?
Will patches be coming out for RH6.1?
Any other advice?
Thanks,
Brian
